What’s a commission?

A commission is a wonderful opportunity to have a custom, heirloom piece of art made just for you. With a commission, you work directly with the artist to create a painting that best fits your home.

How to know if a commission is right for you?

If you’re looking to elevate your space in a more meaningful and intentional way, a custom painting is a perfect way to do so.

What’s the first step in Commissioning Art?

To get started, begin by visualizing your home with some beautiful artwork.

Below is a list of questions to help you imagine the perfect painting for your space.

• Where do you plan to place your artwork?

  Maybe you’re trying to fill your entryway with a large canvas, or perhaps you're looking for something small and sentimental to place on your bookshelf.
  

• What size do you need your painting to be?

  Now that you know where your art is going, it’s time to get out your measuring tape to see just how big your art needs to be.
  
  

• How do you want to feel when you look at your art?

  calm, happy, at peace… These are just a few examples, really take time to think about this. You’re going to have this painting for several years, it needs to be something that’s meaningful to you.
  
  

• What mood are you trying to convey in your space?

  Similar to the question above, but this time we’re talking about your home. Some examples are cozy, moody, serene, energetic

• What colors do you absolutely need, and which do you not?

  Think about the mood you're trying to convey, look at the colors that will be surrounding your artwork, and also take into account the colors that you simply do not like. Then come up with 2-3 colors that you wish to show up in your painting.
