Mindful Questions to Ask Yourself While Shopping.

Your space is sacred and the items you choose to surround yourself with will speak volumes about who you are, affecting the way you show up and go about life.

I know it sounds a little much, but truly, it makes an impact. If you’ve been feeling stressed out, as if you’re lacking self-expression, and generally not happy, take a look around you. Do you have a closet full of clothes, but nothing to wear? A house filled with things, but it doesn’t feel like home?

I’ve been here before, it’s frustrating. I was taught to buy on impulse, quantity vs. quality always hunting for a bargain and quickly grabbing something because"oh! it’s such a great deal". Then, I was left with a bunch of things that brought zero joy.

So how do we overcome this? We start by being mindful of our shopping.

How do you become more mindful when shopping?

In order to be more mindful with your shopping, you need to get very clear on the vision you have yourself.

Once you know how you want to feel inside your home, and the lifestyle you want to live. You can then start selecting items that easily fit inside that vision.

Here are a few mindful questions to ask yourself while shopping:

  1. How do you want to feel? Does this item make you feel that way?

  2. What are you trying to say about yourself?

  3. Is there a connection?

Did you immediately get excited when you saw this, or do you just sort of like it?

  4. Is this something that you are going to love and find value in for years to come?

  5. Is this practical?

What use will this item bring? ( this can be literal or even emotional, perhaps it helps to calm your mind )

When you begin being mindful of your shopping and the items that you surround yourself with, it’s going to bring so much inner peace and fulfillment. It does require a bit of patience, but the outcome is rewarding
